The Rev. David E. Young is a retired Presbyterian minister. He and his wife, the Rev. Dr. Nancy K. Young, are currently serving as part-time Interim Co-Pastors here at Branchville Pres.

David and Nancy are both trained transition specialists having served in other interim positions as well as on staff of larger and smaller sized PC(USA) congregations. The last time they co-pastored was in 1993-96 when they were the organizing co-pastors for a new church development in Fargo, ND.

David and Nancy met at the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1978 where they were both in the
graduate program for vocal performance. After embarking on music careers in the D.C. area, they were both called, at different times, to vocations
in the church. Along the way, they found time to continue to use their musical skills as voice teachers and performers.

David graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1987, Nancy in 1993.

In addition to ministry and music, David’s hobbies and interests include windsurfing, fishing, house painting and doing general renovation and repairs. He has spent a number of years accompanying youth groups on mission work trips, overseeing their work and teaching construction basics.

David and Nancy’s chief claim to fame is as the proud parents of Adam, Micah and Molly. Adam and his wife Kristine have 2 daughters – Arden and Juniper. Adam is a post-production video editor for Victoria Secret and also an accomplished musician. Kristine is a psychotherapist in private practice. David and Nancy’s son, Micah, is a professional musician (pianist, accompanist, composer and music director) and lives in Manhattan. Their daughter, Molly, is also a professional musician (vocal performer and teacher) and lives with her husband, Subodh, in the Washington, DC, area.

Rev. Dr. Nancy Young came to the ministry from a music career. She received a BA in Vocal Music and English, a Master in Vocal Performance and specialized in early and Baroque vocal music. She attended Princeton Theological Seminary where she earned a Master of Divinity and later earned a Doctor of Ministry in Homiletics from McCormick Theological Seminary.

She loves working with congregations, planning worship, designing and teaching adult studies. Nancy is married to her wonderful co-pastor, David Young. The Youngs have three children: Adam (Kristine Wilson), Micah, and Molly (Dr. Subodh Arora) and two beautiful granddaughters, Arden and Juniper Young.
